Internet Access

The Library has one Internet terminal that can be reserved for either a half hour or an hour. There is also an Internet terminal that can be used on a first come, first served basis for fifteen minutes at a time. To inquire about reserving an Internet terminal for a specific day and time, please contact the Library at 508-832-7790.

Merriam Room

When not needed for Library-related activities, the Merriam Room is available to Auburn residents for meetings of a cultural, entertainment, educational or civic nature. The room must be booked by an Auburn resident, 21 years of age or older, who will be in attendance at the event and will be responsible for the room’s condition and who will insure that the event, which will be held in the meeting room, does not interfere with the normal operation of the Library.

Museum Passes

The Library has discount passes to the following:

Davis Farmland in Sterling, MA

The Discovery Museums in Acton, MA

Roger Williams Park Zoo in Providence, RI

Lawn Sign

The lawn sign is generally used for messages promoting Library services or events. Individuals or Auburn-based non-profit groups may request that a message be posted about an event of special interest to the Auburn community. These may be permitted at the discretion of the Director. No other signs are permitted on Library property.

 

Display Cases in the Foyer

When the two display cases in the Library foyer are not needed for Library exhibits, they may be used by members of the public to display items and information of interest to Auburn residents.

Signs and Information Table

To the left of the doorway as you enter the Library is a table where items containing information of interest to Auburn residents may be found. The primary use for this table is the display of items such as bus schedules, income tax forms, and brochures from non-profit service organizations.

Space permitting, this table may also contain items that have been received unsolicited. These may include anything from religious pamphlets and Armed Forces brochures to propaganda on controverisal issues or leaflets on folk dancing events. These are placed on the table without any endorsement or comment by the Library for the public to use if they so choose.

Literature intended primarily as advertising to promote the financial gain of an individual or a profit-making organization is not allowed.

In the foyer signs may be displayed on the circular and rectangular bulletin boards. In order to be displayed, signs must adhere to the Signs and Information Table Policy.

Auburn Community Television Public Access Channel 11 Dropoff

Bulletin Board Message Forms, Cablecast Request Forms and VHS tapes of Cablecast programs may be dropped off at the Library where they will be picked up and delivered to Channel 11.
