Laptop Computer Use Policy  

Laptops will be checked out to library card holders aged 18 and over with a library account in good standing. (No overdue materials or fines.)

Borrowers must leave their driver’s license or a picture ID and their library card at the desk while using the laptop computer.

Laptops are available on a first come first serve basis. They cannot be reserved ahead of time.  

A laptop will be lent for a period of up to two hours.   

Laptops must be returned to the reference desk at least 15 minutes before library closing.  

 Library hours:          Monday - Thursday 9:30 – 8:30, Friday 9:30 – 5:30, Saturday 9 - 1

Laptops must be returned to a staff member and should never be left unattended.

The library is not responsible if a laptop is stolen or damaged during a borrower's loan period. YOU are responsible for the laptop and all peripherals until YOU have returned them and they are checked in.  

Laptops may be used only in the Library. Removal of laptops from the library will be considered theft and prosecuted.

The user bears responsibility for damage to the computer due to neglect, abuse, loss or physical damage. Replacement cost is $500.00 for the laptop.

A mouse is available for separate check out. The replacement fee for the mouse is $20.00

Users need to save their work to their personal thumb drives. Files should not be saved to the laptop hard drive. Library is not responsible for any files left on any laptops or for loss or damage to user files during the loan period.

The Library is not responsible for any computer viruses that may be transferred to or from user storage devices. The library laptop is using current anti-virus software, but cannot guarantee protection against all viruses.

 Please report non-working laptops and laptops with any objectionable material downloaded on them immediately.

 Failure to comply with these policies will result in loss of computer borrowing privileges.
