Hollywood and the courtroom: The anatomy of a trial. Join the honorable Judge Dennis J Curran for a lecture on courtroom trials! We'll explore the power of storytelling and the impact of film to embody an inhabit the law and its relationship to ideas about injustice, liberty, citizenry, race, justice, crime, punishment, and social order. We will watch a dozen courtroom scenes from famous movies and discover why they are so powerful, and what they tach us about the trial process. Thursday April thirtieth. 6:30 PM to 7:30 pm. Fourth and Fifth Grade Book Club. Join us for our monthly children's book club for 4th & 5th graders! Kids will pick up the assigned book ahead of time and read it before we meet. YMCA Family & Community Partnership YFCP. Young Scientist STEM Program. This series is sponsored by the YMCA Family and Community Partnership (YFCP). Children, ages three to six, with a parent or caregiver will learn STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) concepts through hands-on activities, story time, challenges and simple experiments in this weekly STEM series facilitated by STEM Beginnings. Parents or caregivers are encouraged to help their child and join in the fun during each class! Siblings are welcome and must be supervised. Registration required.
